The Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) is the only trade body that represents the interests of the whole architectural ironmongery industry - architectural ironmongers, wholesalers and manufacturers. Our mission is to Advance Architectural Ironmongery We promote the highest standards of education, technical excellence and professionalism in the UK and internationally, and promote these standards to the industry and its clients. We collaborate with trade bodies across all areas of construction including the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Construction Products Association (CPA), Charted Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), and the British Woodworking Federation (BWF), as well as overseas trade bodies like the Door Hardware Institute (DHI). The Guild is built on three pillars:

• Education we offer courses and qualifications up to RegAI level, the benchmark standard for Architectural Ironmongery
• Technical standards we help develop the standards that affect the products our members make, specify and use. We also provide support and guidance to the sector on developing their business, and anything AI-related
• Community activities the Guild brings people together through our programme of awards, events and our extensive Branch network
