Trade Associations & Competition Law - Best Practice Leader's Lunch

About this event

This leaders' lunch with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) will bring together senior trade association leaders for a focused discussion on how competition law guidance can better reflect the realities of association-led collaboration and engagement. Representatives from the CMA will include Dan Rawling, Director, Competition Enforcement, Sharon Horwitz, Legal Director, Policy & Practice and Mary Reilly, Deputy Head of Enforcement Communications, who will be attending to hear directly from the sector.

The CMA is currently reviewing its approach to business guidance and is seeking input from the sector on how existing guidance works in practice, where it lacks clarity, and how future updates could better support compliant and effective member activity. As part of the conversation, we’ll reference the CMA’s existing Do's and Don’ts for Trade Associations, and we encourage attendees to review this in advance to help inform the discussion.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Share lived experience of applying competition law in a trade body setting
  • Highlight where current guidance needs greater clarity or flexibility
  • Shape future updates that work for both members and regulators

Lunch will be served, and spaces are limited to ensure a focused and practical discussion. We encourage CEOs, policy directors, and heads of legal or compliance to attend.

This event is for TAF members only.
